Overcoming ObstaclesWhen life hands you a lemon then you make lemonade. That is the oldest life tip that is still popular today. This simply means that you make the most of what you have. Life doesn’t always run smoothly but you deal with it and go on. Sometimes it’s not easy to go on but we have to for our friends, our family, our pets and ourselves. When someone has an illness or condition it may be hard some days but life must go on. How? How can someone get up in the morning and deal with the doctor’s appointments, medications, pain, weakness and more? It may become too much to even imagine going through it but it can be done. It’s amazing how much a person can endure and how much he or she allows. It’s not easy to wake up and know that you have an illness but thousands of people do everyday. A life can be so perfect one day and then suddenly you are diagnosed with a terminal illness. How can it be when you feel fine, just a little tired? No one knows why we get diseases or illnesses but we do. Research is constantly being done everyday to find cures for everything from the simplest conditions to the most agonizing diseases. Everyday someone is diagnosed with a condition or disease that cannot be treated. It will be absolutely wonderful if one day we would have a pill or a prescription that will take care of the condition or disease. Until that day comes, the closest that we can hope for is to bank cord blood. It is sometimes the only defense to an otherwise terminal disease. Everyday people are seeing the positive affect of cord blood donation. For mothers who decide not to bank their own cord blood, there is the option to donate cord blood. When cord blood donations are taken then someone who may be dying from an illness can be healed all because someone signed a paper giving permission to save cord blood instead of throwing it away. More and more people are learning about cord blood donation. They understand how wonderful this gift can be. If more mothers elect to donate or store cord blood that is one more life saved, one more day scientists can work on a cure, one more donation for research. There are so many people out there, young and old of all ages, that simply wants one more day. |
